It began with a habit that never left. In a world of screens, our founder still worked things out by hand — a notepad for the morning’s plan, a writing pad for long thoughts, paper for the ideas that only arrive with a pen moving. But the pads he could buy across India felt made to be thrown away: paper that fought the nib, sheets that ghosted, covers that curled. Good paper existed, but at import prices. So he set out to source honest, everyday paper and pads for people who still think best on a page.

Paper you enjoy writing on is a quiet luxury — a smooth, ghost-free sheet, a pad that opens flat, and a weight that feels considered in the hand. Yet between disposable pads and boutique stationery, there was little for the everyday writer who simply wants a page that behaves. Closing that gap — thoughtful, dependable, fairly priced paper and pads — is the whole idea behind the shop.

Our Inspiration

After months of writing across samples from mills around India — which paper stayed smooth, which stopped ghosting, which pads lay flat — chose our first Paper & Pads collection for a simple crowd: people who still reach for paper first, and want it to be a pleasure, not a compromise.
